Description

The KIM-P Keyless Ignition for Motorcycles makes your ignition key a thing of the past!

In a world where security is a necessity and convenience in high demand, RFID keyless technology is the perfect security solution for protecting your bike. The KIM-P Keyless Ignition Module combines advanced RFID security and ultimate keyless convenience all in one amazing plug & play product. The KIM-P uses RFID proximity technology similar to that found on today's finest luxury keyless vehicles. You simply carry one of the systems digital RFID "Dawg Tags" with you. As you approach your bike, the system authenticates your unique RFID Dawg Tag and authorizes your ignition automatically. No more need for an ignition key. You just climb on, flip your kill switch to ON, thumb your Start Button and GO! The KIM-P completely eliminates any need for the factory ignition switch and all the hassles associated with using a key! When your ride is over, flip your kill switch to OFF and you just walk away . . . . . , the KIM-P will automatically arm, completely immobilizing your ignition system and leaving your motorcycle fully secured! And unlike common alarms that only lockout the starter circuit, The KIM-P provides dual point immobilization of your motorcycles electrical system, locking out both your Ignition and Fuel circuits. It's impossible to ever forget to protect your bike, it's all automatic! No more keys to hassle with, No more wheel locks or chains to carry around, No more forgetting to arm your alarm, and no false alarms ever, just absolute "Hands Free" keyless convenience and powerful security.

* Bikes that were destined for the EU, CA or world markets may have a factory Immobilizer system. If this is the case on your bike you will need to bypass the Immobilizer to use the DGD-KIM-P Keyless Ignitions. Bypassing this feature can be accomplished by either relocating the antenna under the tank, fairing or inside the headlight bucket with the head of the factory key placed within the antenna or re-flashing the ECU.

Features

Advanced Design

Through extensive use of microelectronics the KIM-P boasts huge features in a tiny package. New state-of-the-art high load micro relays independently switch Ignition and Accessory circuits providing optimum power handling and control. Sealed within a specially formulated RTV compound to protect from moisture and dampen vibration, total module size is only 1½" X 1½" X 2" allowing it to mount virtually anywhere.

RFID Dawg Tag

RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) Dawg Tags provide completely "Hands Free" operation of your bikes ignition. Dawg Tags are motion activated and will only authorize your Ignition to operate when you are within range. Each Tag is completely unique with over 6 billion different code combinations. Dawg Tags can be cross-programmed allowing one tag to operate multiple bikes. You can also easily select between Automatic or Manual modes, via the Dawg Tag, giving you complete control of how and when the system arms and disarms. One day all bikes will be keyless, but if you're a rider who likes being at the head of the pack, then the KIM-P Ignition Module can bring you tomorrows future technology today.

No More Keys!

No more frustration taking your gloves off and on to search your pockets for keys. No more keys to scratch your paint, to fumble with or fall out of the lock or your pocket and lose. Imagine the pleasure of being able to just "get on and go, then get off and walk away" always knowing your bike is completely protected whenever you're not there. Losing your keys has never felt so good!

What makes the Guard Dawg Tracker better?

3G vs. 4G Systems

What good is a tracking system if it can't tell you where your bike is? Many tracking systems are still using the old 3G network for their communications. Everyday 3G towers are coming down, resulting in less coverage area. Currently all major cell carriers are scheduled to retire their 3G networks by the end of 2020 making 3G systems obsolete. Only 4G cellular service gives you long term border to border and coast to coast coverage.

Power Draw vs. Locating Accuracy

Most GPS systems that claim to be motorcycle trackers make a critical compromise in their design. Motorcycles batteries are small, to save current draw on the bikes battery, they reduce "how often" their system reports your bikes actual location. Some inexpensive GPS systems only report the "actual" location of your bike once or twice a day, leaving you with less then accurate location info when you may need it most.

Guard Dawg Tracker has solved this issue with our revolutionary new "APMC" (Advanced Power Management Circuitry). By cycling the system into a deep sleep / power saving mode when your bikes is motionless, then waking it up when the system detects motion, we achieve a ultra-low current draw protecting against battery drain while still providing "Real Time" GPS location info, updating every 2 minutes with pin point accuracy.

FAQs

FAQs

Does the Bike shut off if I walk away with the Dawg Tag?

No, the KIM module only needs to see the Dawg Tag for Authorization to start not to keep running, we designed the system this way as a safety precaution in case the Dawg Tag fell out of your pocket while riding down the freeway or the batteries died while you were on a ride.

Is the DGD-KIM a good security system?

Often the first appeal of the DGD-KIM is its convenience or the coolness factor of not having to use keys, but if the system were rated only for the level of security it provides it would still be one of the strongest on the market. What makes the DGD-KIM such as powerful security device is the way it works with your bikes electrical system. A common bike alarm or start interrupt system only kills one circuit on you bike. This is almost always the start circuit. In the case of the DGD-KIM it is hardwired right into the bikes whole ignition system, so when it's armed no other circuit on the bike can even get power. None of the typical "jump from here to here" tricks will work. Your bike's simply dead weight.

How hard is the install?

The installation is very straight forward. On the "Guard Dawg Install Scale" we rate it a 2 beer install. You will need to locate your bikes ignition switch connector, typically this is about 6-9 inches from the ignition switch, you will just unplug the ignition switch and plug us in. Next you will locate your stop/run connector, typically this is located in the headlight bucket, unplug the connector and plug us in. Finally just run a wire to the negative side of your battery, after that crack open your second beer and test out your new keyless ignition.

When do I have to replace the battery in my Dawg Tag?

We recommend changing your batteries once a year, depending on use you can expect to get 1-3 years out of your Dawg Tag batteries.

Can I add addition Dawg Tags to my system?

Yes, Each system can learn up to four unique Dawg Tags. If you have numerous bikes you can program each of your Dawg Tags to operate any of your bikes.

Can one Dawg Tag control numerous bikes?

Yes, Each system can learn up to four unique Dawg Tags. If you have numerous bikes you can program each of your Dawg Tags to operate any of your bikes.

Do the bikes lights come on when I walk up to my bike?

No, The way the DGD-KIM system works is like this; as you approach your bike, the system begins communication to see if you have a valid Dawg tag with you. If you have a valid tag the system "pre-authorizes" your ignition and accessory circuits, but doesn't turn anything on until you flip your stop/run switch to "on", then the DGD-KIM sequentially turns on your Ignition, Accessories and lights.

If I change the battery in either my bike or Dawg Tag do I need to reprogram the Dawg Tag?

No, The Dawg Tags utilize non-volatile memory and will not lose their programming if either the Dawg Tag or the module loses power.

Will my insurance company give me a discount for having this system installed?

Each insurance company is different, this system provide a "3 point immobilization" and locks down your entire bikes electrical systems.

What if I want to listen to the radio while at a car/bike show but not run the entire ignition?

You can add our optional Accessory switch which enables you to turn on your ACC circuit independent from your ignition system as well as the Dawg Tag, this is a great option if you are at a show or even just a BBQ and you won't be at your bike the whole time but want to run LED lighting or the radio. Your bike will still be protected from someone attempting to hop on and ride because you will not be there with the Dawg Tag.

What if I lose my Dawg Tag?

If you lose your Dawg Tag, simply enter your user programmable bypass code via the stop/run switch and you will be able to start your bike. Then give us a call and we can get another fob expedited out to you.

Does each Dawg Tag have a different code or frequency?

Each tag has its own unique digital code, one in over 6 billion. The system learns your tags individual serial number.

Is the DGD-KIM protected against "Code grabbers"?

Yes, each Dawg Tag uses what's called "rolling code" meaning that when it sends a code to the module, the next time they communicate they will use a different a code. This code uses a complex algorithm; so that even if someone stole your code, the next time your system and Dawg Tag communicate the old code that was "grabbed" is no longer valid and will no longer authorize the module.

How many Dawg Tags come with a system?

Each Digital Guard Dawg System comes with (1) Dawg Tag included. You can purchase extra Dawg Tags and program up to (4) per system. Extra Dawg Tags can be added any time. You can also program a single tag into multiple systems so that you can operates all you Motorcycles or Vehicle by carrying just one Dawg Tag.

Is the DGD-KIM Water proof?

The DGD-KIM is a fully sealed unit, we classify the module as IP67 "highly water resistant". The system has been tested to operate correctly after being completely submerged underwater for over 5 minutes.

What about Alarm sensors or sirens?

Alarm systems and Keyless Ignition systems They approach the problems of theft in two completely different ways. The Keyless Ignition eliminates your ignition switch and makes it so you never have to use keys, Just walk up flip your Stop/Run switch, thumb the start button and go. When you're done riding you just walk away. Its true that often the first appeal of the DGD-KIM is its convenience or the coolness factor of not having to use keys, but if the system were rated only for the level of security it provides it would still be one of the strongest on the market. Alarms typically will have a "starter interrupt" which only kills (1) circuit on your bike, "The Starter" this leaves the bike vulnerable to simply being jump started or simply hot wiring to the starter. What makes the DGD-KIM such a powerful security device is the way it works with your bikes electrical system. In the case of the DGD-KIM it is hardwired right into the bike whole ignition system, so when it's armed no other circuit on the bike can even get power. None of the typical "jump from here to here" tricks will work. Your bike's simply dead weight. Regarding, Single, Dual or Triple Axis sensors; As cool as they all sound, simply because of the environment a motorcycle lives in, we have never seen one that doesn't have frequent false alarms from rain, wind or a truck driving by, this is why we don't try and detect bumps. Also due to the limits of space on most motorcycles, it's also extremely hard to mount a siren on a bike that can't be found and disabled in a matter of seconds.

Will the DGD-KIM void my warranty ?

Not at all, We have been selling the DGD-KIM series of systems for over 5 years and have never had a single manufactures warranty issue.

What type of battery does the Dawg Tag use?

The Dawg Tag uses (2) CR2032 batteries.

Will the system work with my aftermarket or stock alarm system?

Our unit is an independent unit so it will work fine with any aftermarket or stock alarm system.

How many Dawg Tags does the system come with?

All of our systems come with 1 Dawg Tag, you can always add additional Dawg Tags to your system, it just requires giving us a call.

My Dawg Tag looks different than the one you guys show online

I purchased the system for my 2006 Nightrod. I could not be happier with the quality and thoroughness of the kit. I installed it at the same time I replaced my fuel cell, which requires relocation of the ignition. Being able to eliminate that step and go keyless worked out perfect. I can highly recommend this modification to anybody that hates messing with keys and wants some added security for their ride. Thanks, Glenn

I just finished installing the Digital Guard Dawg keyless system on my 2006 VRSCA V-Rod, I also bought one for my wife's 2004 VRSCB and cross-program both. I am happy to report that the installation was painless and that the system is working perfectly on my bike. It's great to go keyless! I especially like that all the wires are color-coded just like the H-D stock wires so installation is almost goof-proof. Thanks,

Charlie Herder

Here is my 2004 Harley Davidson Turbo VRSCB V-Rod. I've recently installed the Digital Guard Dawg key less mod. and just love it. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. In fact I'm so happy with it that I've just ordered a second one for my 2007 Turbo Night Rod Special.

Pat Mailloux

Love the system! Nice not to have to try to remember to set the alarm, Awesome product!

Melissa Wright

The whole experience of dealing with Digital Dawg was excellent, great advice, easy product install and the KIM just works fantastically. Nothing more to say than I'm yet another happy customer and really enjoying being key less!

Ray Joslin

I just wanted to take a second and say that your product is by far the best mod I have done on this bike. I have had it one for over a year and not one problem with it and the install was easy as well..... I am thinking of getting one linked to my car as well. Thank you for making a great product Thanks,

Gary 95

Going key less was the best modification that has happened on the V-Rod. No more fumbling for keys, just walk up, fire up the bike and ride. The added security is also great as the original ignition switch was removed, giving a potential thief a significant problem.
