Past shooting RAW only, the calculation is elementary: on the 350D, it was around 100 per GB, at present it is only 50...
So I bought 2 x 4Gb and tin can only shop around 400 photos...

per the 450 Transmission, on a 2GB card at ISO 100 and Standard Picture show Style:
RAW+ Big Fine JPEG = 99 images
RAW only = 120
Large Fine JPG = 460
Med. Fine = 770
Pocket-sized Fine = 1190.
and then approximately x4 those numbers for 8GB card.
